Your first laundry pickup: what to expect

You don't need to be home

Most of our household pickups are contactless. You leave your laundry bag out at the door, we collect it, and we bring it back to the same spot washed, dried and folded.

No waiting in for a delivery window. No knock at the door.

Prefer something else? That's fine too. You can be home, leave it with your building concierge, or give us a key and we'll collect from inside and put it back inside. It's up to you.

Step 1: Book

Book online at thewashing.club/first-wash or text 0468 097 087. Tell us:

• Your address and where you'll leave the bag (front door, side gate, building lobby)
• Roughly how much laundry you have
• Anything we should know — fragrance-free, no fabric softener, delicates to keep separate

New customers get their first 2 loads for $33 — the second load is free.

Step 2: Leave your bag out

If we have Washing Club bags in stock, you can buy one for $5 — or get one free if you're booking with us regularly. No bag? Use your own laundry bag, or we'll use a sturdy moving bag.

Put it out at the spot you told us. That's it.

Step 3: We text you when it's collected

Once we've picked up, we send you a message so you know it's on its way.

Step 4: We wash, dry and fold

Everything is professionally washed, fully dried and folded. One load is up to 5kg. We confirm the load count when we collect, so there's no surprise on the invoice.

Step 5: It comes back — usually the next business day

We aim to return every order the next business day, and most come back then. A really big order takes longer, and we'll tell you up front.

When we drop it off, we send you a photo of your bag at the door. You'll know it's there even if you're at work.

Doonas and bulky bedding

Yes, we wash them — including thick overlay doonas. A king-size doona is charged as 2 loads, because most weigh 10kg or more. Mention it when you book.

Heavily soiled items

Items with pet urine or similar mess need extra rinses, and we sanitise the machine afterwards so the next customer's laundry stays clean. For that we charge a hygiene fee of one extra load ($27.50 inc GST) for each machine used. Tell us when you book and we'll confirm the total before we wash.
